In conjunction with celebrations for International Women's Day, the University of Jordan (UJ) Center for Women’s Studies launched the second round of 'ANA HUNA' (I AM HERE) Female Mentoring Project.

The Project is implemented in cooperation with the German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation (GIZ) Regional Programme “Economic Integration of Women – MENA” (EconoWin).

The main objective of the joint project is to increase the employability of women, encourage their interest in economic activity, and help foster their desire to join the labor market.

On the sidelines of the launching event, a Goal Setting Workshop was organized to build the capacity of the 24 participating female students – mentees – and to help them identify steps to achieve their own goals and aspirations.

The mentees were selected according to specific conditions and criteria to pair up with 24 female professionals – mentors - and undergo trainings and networking meetings to benefit from each other.

Through mentoring, female students will benefit from improved access to professional networks, increased self-confidence and personality development, increased motivation to join the labour market through role models provided by successful business women and/or members of academia who balance their work and family life.
