The University of Jordan (UJ) is among the top 1% of Arab higher education institutions, according to the QS University Rankings Arab Region 2017-2018.
According to the results which were released yesterday, UJ has been ranked first locally and in the 9th position regionally in the ranking which considers 1000 Arab universities.
This ranking features 9 indicators: academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), faculty-student ratio (20%), web impact (10%), papers per faculty (5%), citations per paper (5%), percent of faculty with PhD (5%), percent of international faculty (2.5%), and percent of international students (2.5%).
The University achieved an overall score of 84.4%, given that in four of the nine indicators, UJ was placed among the top Ten Arab Universities.
UJ ranked 10th in terms of academic reputation, scored 5th in the Employer Reputation indicator, 8th in the proportion of faculty with PhD degrees indicator, and 7th in the Web Impact indicator.
