UJ Hosts 22nd Japanese Language Speech Contest

The 22nd edition of the Japanese Language Speech Contest was held at the University of Jordan (UJ) with the participation of UJ students and students from other Jordanian universities.

 

The competition, attended by UJ Vice President, Prof. Ahmad Majdoubeh, Japanese Ambassador in Amman Hidenao Yanagi, and Representative of JICA Jordan Office Chie Miyahara, aimed at introducing the Japanese culture and showcasing the skills of Jordanian students studying Japanese.

 

The competition, organized by the School of Foreign Languages in cooperation with the Japanese Embassy, consists of two sections: recitation and Speech.

 

The contestants showed much talent, impressing the jury comprising of the Japanese ambassador, JICA representative, President of the President of the Japanese Community Association in Jordan Hiriki Mato, and Vice President of the Japanese Academic Society, Dr. Ali Al-Hajj.

 

The final results revealed the winning of Mariam Bisha from UJ the in the first place of the speech section and Ammar Al-Mashaikh from JICA graduates association in the second place.
 
As for the recitation section, Mohammad Al-Qurum from the JICA graduates association and Aya Banat from the Hashemite University won the first and second place respectively.
