UJ Awarded ISO 9001: 2015 Certification for Quality Management

Five faculties and ten administrative units at the University of Jordan (UJ) have been awarded the ISO 9001: 2015 certification for the second time in a row for accomplishing international standard that specifies requirements for quality management systems.

Deputy Manager of SGS Jordan, Eng. Hisham Jalham, handed the ISO 9001: 2015 certificate to UJ President, Prof. Nazir Obeidat, in a ceremony held on Wednesday in the presence of the vice presidents, deans of faculties, and directors of units which have been awarded the certificate, in addition to members of the teaching and administrative staff.

In his address during the handover ceremony, Obeidat said that the University has an important philosophy regarding facing current higher education challenges that incorporates reconsidering the student and the educational process, which has become closely linked to the concept of quality assurance at all levels.

Obeidat stressed that ensuring the quality of system at the university is a guarantee of the continuity of the university. At the end, he commended the efforts of all who contributed to achieving an effective management process at UJ.

At the end of the ceremony, Obeidat handed over the certificates to the deans of the schools of business, nursing, dentistry, King Abdullah II for information technology and agriculture, in addition to the directors of the participating units and centers, and the certified auditor certificates for 16 members of the administrative and teaching staff that enable them to conduct the necessary internal audits for the continuity of the ISO project.
