Mahafzah Meets With Khalifa Award Officials

The University of Jordan (UJ) President Prof. Azmi Mahafzah on Wednesday met with a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Khalifa Award for Education, UAE.
 
During the meeting, Mahafzah uttered UJ's pride in the leading role the award is playing - as a UAE initiative - in motivating educators to achieve excellence and unleash their innovation potential.
 
The delegation comprised of Ms. Amal Afifi, Secretary-General of the Award; HE Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of Abu Dhabi Education Council and Member of the Council of Trustees of the Award; Dr. Khalid Al Abri; and Dr. Mohammed Kandil, Executive Committee Members and Dr. Abdul Rahim Hunaiti, award coordinator in Jordan.
 
The delegation spoke about the Award and its objectives aimed at enhancing the educational sector in the UAE and the Arab world.  
 
The two sides discussed the participation of UJ's Faculty members and scholars in the prestigious Award, this year themed "Decade of Excellence" to mark its 10th anniversary.
 
Moreover, the delegation conducted an introductory lecture on the Award's categories and conditions of participation attended by UJ vice presidents, some other Jordanian universities presidents, and a crowd of faculty and staff members.
 
Founded under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, The Khalifa Award for Education is intended to discover successful individuals and educational practices at the local, regional and Arab world levels.
 
Since its inception, the Khalifa Award for Education is committed to the promotion of excellence and a culture of innovation, and the celebration of distinguished skills within the educational field.
