UJ Holds Erasmus plus Week

Targeted to international relations officers and staff engaged in student and staff mobility activities, the 'Erasmus plus Week' has been successfully  concluded at the University of Jordan (UJ) with a wide participation from partner universities in Europe and Turkey.

 

Held from 15 to 20 October, the activities of the event saw the participation of 11 universities are: University of Copenhagen, University of Helsinki, University of Iceland, Södertörn University, University of Radboud, University of Bologna, University of Deusto, University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Estonian University of Life Sciences, University of Ljubljana, and Koç University.

 

According to the Director of the Office of International Relations, Dr. Rami Ali, the event aimed at the exchange of experiences and knowledge about the best practices and challenges facing staff and student exchanges.

 

Several sessions were held during the week to discuss obstacles and challenges encountered by refugee students joining higher education. Other sessions dealt with the networking aspect of European and Turkish universities partnering with Jordanian universities.

 

Director of the National Erasmus plus Office, Dr. Ahmad Abu-El-Haija, delivered a presentation on the history of cooperation between the Jordanian and European universities through a number of EU capacity building and mobility projects, including Tempus, Erasmus Mendous, and Erasmus Plus.
