The President of The University of Jordan Dr. Abdelkarim Alqudah during the meeting with the Chairmen of the Board of Directors Mr. Micheal Wakileh and the Deputy Dean of King Abdullah II School of Information Technology Dr. Mohammad Abushariah, discussed the possible approaches for cooperation in the field of information technology and software. Alqudah pointed, during the meeting, to the importance of enhancing the outlines of cooperation between the private sector and the University, especially in the field of information technology, for the benefit of the students and the educational process. In turn, Mr. Wakileh guaranteed giving his support for building a computer lab in King Abdullah II School of Information Technology, which will hold the latest models of equipment and programs that will interest the students of the faculty. Furthermore, he talked about the openness of the company and its willingness to continue offering the required consultations in the faculty’s study plans, and offering job opportunities and internships for the students. He also annotated the necessity of merging both sides at the level of graduate programs through the adoption of postgraduate students for projects originating in ProgressSoft and private sector companies globally and locally. Abushariah said that ProgreeSoft is a strategic partner for the faculty in the field of information technology at the local level. Also, this partnership shows the importance of the private sector in this field by joining the graduates of this faculty with prestigious and specialized companies. He also called for the encouragement of private sector companies for the endorsement of such partnerships, in order to elevate the outputs of the faculty and to modify the study plans to commensurate with requirements of the job market. |
