UJ, Huawei Discuss Establishing an ICT Academy

The President of the University of Jordan (UJ), Prof. Nathir Obeidat, discussed during his meeting with a delegation from Huawei the possibility of establishing an ICT Academy inside the university campus.


The meeting also discussed the potentials of providing local and regional training opportunities for students of the engineering and information technology schools, and contributing to transforming the University campus into a smart one.


Moreover, the meeting tackled the possibilities of contributing to the improvement of faculty members’ competences in the fields of education, scientific research, and innovation through Train-the-Trainers programs.


It is noteworthy that the meeting comes within the university's objectives to explore cooperation prospects with a number of giant international technological companies with an aim of moving the University forward in this field.


The meeting was attended by university professors and members of the Investment Committee in Entrepreneurial and Innovative Ideas at the University. On the part of Huawei, the meeting was attended by the CEO of Huawei Levant Region, CEO of the company’s office in Jordan, and the director of communications channels with the distributers at Huawei Jordan.
