UJ, Indonesian Embassy Discuss Cooperation

The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, met on Sunday with the Indonesian Ambassador to Jordan, Ade Padmo Sarwono, to discuss ways to enhance academic and cultural cooperation between the two parties.

During the meeting, Obeidat said that UJ supports students from all nationalities, including the 74 Indonesian students studying at the university, expressing willing to receive more students and establish memoranda of understandings with top HE institutions in Indonesia.

In turn, the ambassador commended the prestigious reputation of the University, pointing out that students come to Jordan mainly to study Arabic language and Sharia, noting that the Indonesian side is interested in sending students to complete their studies in Islamic banking and Islamic economics.

The meeting was attended by UJ Vice President for Scientific Schools Affairs, Prof. Ashraf Abu Karaki; Vice President for Humanities Schools Affairs, Prof. Salameh Naimat; Director of International Affairs Unit Prof. Hadeel Yaseen, and Director of the International Program, Alumni and Marketing Unit, Dr. Zaid Obeidat.
