Transport Minister Hussein Al Souob on Tuesday said the ministry is working on decreasing traffic congestion, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. A new transport service for the Zarqa-University of Jordan bus line was launched, supported by the government, under which students receive a 50 per cent discount on transport fees.

During the inauguration ceremony, Souob said the project is connected to the ministry and the Public Security Department via GPS to monitor the buses and ensure that the drivers commit to their routes and their operation contracts. The project currently supports 1,500 students, and it is expected to reach 5,000 by the end of November. People with disabilities can ride for free, according to Petra.
