Seminar on Jordanian-Turkish Relations

Within the events of the “Turkish Cultural Days” in Amman, the Asian Languages Department at the Faculty of Foreign Languages on Tuesday hosted a seminar on the Jordanian-Turkish relations.  

 

The seminar was presented by Dr. Mehmet Suçin, Gazi University, Dr. Muhammad Arnaot, University of Istanbul, and Dr. Ayman Haijneh, Yarmouk University.

 

The seminar took place in the presence of the Turkish Ambassador Sedat Onal, Assistant Secretary-General of Cultural Centers of Turkey worldwide, and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Dr. Yousef Awad.

 

The «Cultural Days of Turkey” is organized by the Yunus Emre Institute in Amman during the period 21- 24 December 2014.

 

The seminar revolved around the economic, political and academic relations between Jordan and Turkey as well as topics related to the Arab and Turkish literatures.

 

In addition, the presenters shared their experiences of learning Arabic and the difficulties they faced and overcome.

 

Ambassador Onal, in his remark, acknowledged the common values between the Turkish and Jordanian peoples.

 

Its noteworthy that the Department of Asian Languages at the Faculty of Foreign Languages offers a range courses on Turkish language and literature to foreign languages Students.
