New Trends in Information Technology Conference Opens

The New Trends in Information Technology (NTIT 2017) Conference kicked off the University of Jordan (UJ) on Tuesday under the patronage of UJ Vice President Prof. Omar kafawin.

 

Taking place from 25 to 27 April, the Conference in held in partnership of ProgressSoft Corporation, a major software development company for imaging technology and real-time payments solutions.

 

At the opening ceremony, Prof. kafawin said the event aims at bringing together researchers, scientists, master and PhD students from Jordan and abroad to meet and exchange knowledge, ideas, and findings, as well as to stimulate discussions in many related research areas and topics.

 

In his remarks, Chairman of the Conference Prof. Azzam Sleit said the Conference mainly seeks to gather stakeholders from education and industry sectors to deliberate on how to transfer, diffuse, and adopt new trends in ICTs for the betterment of human life and to contribute to national growth.

 

In turn ProgressSoft Corporation CEO Michael Wakileh stressed the importance of linking ICT industry and ICT research and education to boost student talents and enhance their creativity.

 

The three-day conference will cover a wide range of topics related to Software Engineering, Algorithms, Machine Learning and Datamining, Arabic Natural Language Processing and Information Technology.

 

In addition, four specialized workshops will be held at the third day of the conference on new trends on big data analysis, new trends in Arabic computational and corpus linguistics, new trends in software engineering, and new trends in health informatics.
