The University of Jordan (UJ) and Berghof Foundation Operations GmbH on Sunday formalized their desire to maintain their cooperation with a new Memorandum of Understanding.
The MoU was signed by UJ President Prof. Azmi Mahafzah and the Director of Programme Peace Education and Global Learning, Prof. Uli Jager.
The MoU is signed in the context of the project "Civic and non-violent education in Jordan".
Under the MoU, the two sides will cooperate in three core areas, civic education, nonviolent education, and peace education and global learning.
Prior to signing the MoU, Prof. Mahafzah discussed with Prof. Jager and the accompanied delegation aspects of common interest to the two sides, in addition to the possibility of establishing a center for civic education at the University.
In turn, Prof. Jager expressed pleasure to continue the cooperation with UJ, which goes back to 2014.
Prof. Lubna Akroush, Berghof's liaison officer at the University, said since 2014, the program has held 5 workshops with the participation of about 120 students, in addition to issuing the Culture of Peace and Nonviolence Guide, and training a number of students in Germany.
