American Band Della Mae Performs at the School of Arts and Design
For the first time at UJ, the Grammy nominated bluegrass female band Della Mae has presented a unique American form of music at the School of Arts and Design on Wednesday, Nov 29th.
 
The band offered a lesson in bluegrass music for Music students at the School.
 
Bluegrass music is an American form of music with a notable Jazz and country music influence and English, Irish, and Scottish traditional music roots.
 
Formed in 2009, the band is composed of vocalist Celia Woodsmith, mandolin player Jenni Lyn Gardner, guitarist Courtnery Hartman, bass player Zoe Guigueno and fiddle player Kimber Ludiker.
 
The event was attended by the School's Dean Dr. Rami Haddad, Chairman of the Music Department Dr. nedal nusirat, and Deputy Cultural Attaché at the US Embassy in Amman Kala Azar.
 
The band’s visit to Jordan is part of the American Music Abroad program, cultural exchange program of the US Department of States, and aims to communicate America’s rich musical contributions to the global music scene.
