Computer Science and Computer Information Systems Programs Obtain ABET Accreditation
The Departments of Computer Science and Computer Information Systems at the King Abdullah II School of Information Technology have obtained the accreditation certificate of the  Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

According to this accreditation, graduate certificates of these departments are now accredited by ABET until 2022. ABET accreditation means that the programs meet the quality standards of the profession that produce graduates who are prepared to enter a global workforce.

Moreover, there will be a committee to evaluate both of the programs regularly, in collaboration with a specialized team in the fields of information technology whether from the academic or private sector. The evaluation will focus on the curriculum, efficacy of the faculty, the level of students, human and material resources, and the support offered by the university for the School.

This accreditation helps scientific and engineering schools adopt an international approach for the evaluation of the outputs of the educational process; it will also encourage the applicants on choosing majors that offer high quality education that will later contribute in attaining better job opportunities.

ABET is a world renowned non-profit organization that is owned and operated by over 25 scientific and engineering associations in the United States, with over 2000 academic experts. It has developed high quality standards for engineering education for 75 years.
