UJ Ranked Among the Best Universities Subject Wise
In the World University Rankings by Subject 2019, the University of Jordan (UJ) ranked among the best universities in the world in three scientific areas and eight academic subjects.
 
The ranking, which is launched annually by the British organization QS, is the most influential discipline-wise global ranking.
 
UJ achieved excellent results in significant subjects such as medicine, pharmacy, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemistry, agriculture, business, and computer science and information systems.
 
Discipline wise, UJ achieved a global ranking in three of them: engineering and technology, social and administrative sciences, and arts and humanities.
 
According to a statement issued by the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Center, UJ ranked 373th globally in the field of engineering and technology, ranked 343th globally in the field of Social Sciences and Management, and 398th worldwide in Arts and Humanities.
 
At the level of subjects, UJ was ranked 401-450 globally in Medicine, 251-300 in Pharmacy, 301-350 in Mechanical Engineering, and in the field of computer science and information systems UJ was place in 301-350 band.
 
Moreover, four new subjects have entered the world list in this year's edition. In electrical engineering, UJ was ranked 351-400 globally; in chemistry it was rated 451-500; whereas in agriculture, Business Science and Management, UJ was ranked in the 301-350 category.
 
The ranking analyzes and assesses about 4,500 universities throughout the world according to a number of indicators, including academic reputation, employer reputation, the number of citations per researcher in scientific publications, and its H index.
 
Its noteworthy that UJ has been ranked in the top 601 – 650 universities in the 2018/19 QS World University Rankings.
 
UJ also ranked in the 404th place worldwide in terms of academic reputation, and in the 251st place in terms of employer reputation.
