Conference to Highlight Role of Women in Education Launched

The "Zainab" Conference on Women in Education in Jordan launched on Saturday under the patronage of the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. Walid Maani.

 

The Conference is organized by the Solidarity is Global Institute Jordan in cooperation with the Center for Women Studies at the University.

 

The Conference is part of the Women Empowerment for Leadership project, supported by the Hivos organization, and part of a series of specialized conferences organized by 'Solidarity' to highlight the work of women in various sectors and areas, including the "Anisa" conference on Jordanian women in the medical and health professions and "Leila Baqili" conference about Jordanian women in the financial and banking professions.

 

The Conference discussed two working papers mainly focusing on the 'Goal 4' of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), "Ensuring a quality, fair and inclusive education for all", presented by Dr. Mona Mumtoun, expert and co-advisor to the Women Solidarity Institute, and on the reality of education of women's with disabilities presented by Dr. Nabilah Al Hanakta, Director of Guidance Department  at the Ministry of Education.
