UJ Academic Team Awarded Grant from Newton-Khalidi Fund

A team of University of Jordan (UJ) faculty has been awarded a grant from the Newton-Khalidi Fund /Researcher Links programme to organize a Newton Researcher Links Workshop.

The team is comprised of Dr. Deyala Tarawneh as coordinator and principal researcher, and Prof. Samer Abu Ghazaleh and Dr. Jawdat Qsous as mentors.

The scientific workshop, titled "Regenerating Cities during Crisis: Culturally-Routed and Sustainable Strategies for Middle Eastern Cities", will be organized in July in cooperation with the University of Portsmouth, UK.

The workshop will be attended by Jordanian and British researchers and seeks to examine, within a cultural and sustainable perspective, solutions on reconstruction of conflict-affected cities.

It's noteworthy that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the British Council, signed a collaboration Agreement for Newton-Khalidi Fund (Researcher Links programme) in 2018.

The Newton Khalid Fund - Researcher Links Workshops aims to bring together early-career researchers from Jordan and the UK to allow them to make international connections that can improve the quality of their research.
