UJ Celebrates King's 59th Birthday

The University of Jordan (UJ) on Wednesday held a ceremony to mark the 59th birthday of the His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein. The event was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs under the patronage of the President Prof. Abdul Karim Al-Qudah.

 

The ceremony included a range of arts and cultural activities that began with a poetic recitation by Eid Al-Masaeed and Aya Al-Da'jah, while the university choir, accompanied by performers Hussam and Wissam Al-Lawzi, presenting patriotic and traditional songs inspired by the Jordanian folklore.

 

During the ceremony, which was attended by senior university officials and a number of students, and mastered by student Wasan Naimat, the Career Counseling Office at the Deanship launched the "Fakher" program during which eight UJ alumni presented their success stories, through Zoom and congratulated His Majesty the King on his birthday, in their own languages and dialects.

 

In the context, Al-Qudah inaugurated an art exhibition which included 20 carved wood wall arts by number of talented students from all over the university who joined the handicraft workshop at the deanship, under the supervision of the head of Basma Bani Yunus.
