In cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the second phase of a training programme for academics at the beginning of their careers in Jordanian universities was concluded on Monday.

The training was organised by the British Council in cooperation with experts from the United Kingdom.
In his closing speech, Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Mamoun Al Debi’e, praised the efforts of the British Council and its remarkable contribution to the development of the higher education sector in Jordan, especially in these exceptional times.

Debe’i said that the systematic immersion of e-learning in higher education programmes is among the top priorities of the Higher Education Council, before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

It also reviewed the measures taken by the Higher Education Council to bring about fundamental changes within the higher education system, and to allow new patterns of learning that are efficient and flexible, through a flexible action plan to include e-learning (in its fully online and blended form) in the current traditional learning patterns in higher education institutions.

Debe’i added that the Higher Education Council recently approved "The Regulation on Embedding Online Learning in Higher Education Institutions", which aims to establish a legal and legislative framework for the e-learning process in all its forms (online) and (blended) in Jordanian higher education institutions.

The second phase of the training workshops included holding a number of training workshops using remote communication techniques.
