UJ, Embassy of Spain Discuss Cooperation
The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, on Thursday discussed with the Spanish Ambassador to Jordan, Aranzazu Banon Davalos, and ways to enhance joint academic and cultural cooperation.

The two sides reviewed current joint cooperation and promising opportunities to develop and strengthen bilateral ties in various fields.

Obeidat commended cooperation between UJ and the embassy, stressing his support for continued coordination between the two parties with regard to the Spanish language program at the School of Foreign Languages, and joint projects with the Center for Strategic Studies (CSS) at UJ.

Davalos, in turn, expressed keenness to continue cooperation with UJ, looking forward in this cooperation to include new areas such as continuous training and opening up more opportunities for Spanish language graduates, and higher specialization in medicine.

 
Vice President for International Affairs, Quality and Accreditation, Director of the Center for Strategic Studies, Prof. Zaid Eyadat, highlighted the importance of faculty, students, and researchers exchange programs for the university.

He also called for increasing the number of Spanish students at UJ, as well as expanding collaboration with Spanish think tanks to exchange expertise and establish joint ventures.

Director of the International Affairs Unit (IAU), Dr. Hadeel Yaseen, said UJ has signed cooperation agreements with 11 Spanish universities on exchanging students and faculty members within the Erasmus+ program for this year, expressing IAU's readiness to cooperate with the embassy and provide the necessary technical support.
