UJ Wins Five Awards of JEA's Graduation Projects Competition

A number of graduation projects designs developed by engineering students at the University of Jordan (UJ) were selected winners at 2022 graduation projects competition of the Jordan Engineers Association (JEA).


 
The Competition is annually organized by the Association to recognize outstanding graduation projects of engineering students in Jordan.

 

UJ has won five out of 18 awards granted by the Association. In Chemical Engineering, a project dubbed “Producing Hydrogen Gas through Recycling Plastic Waste” has won the first place of this category. The project was conducted by Khaled Tayseer Amer, Siraj El-Din Ismail Abu Mahfouz, Louay Jibril Obaid, Lin Ahmed Al-Homsi, and Sireen Ashraf Kharabsheh, under the supervision of Dr. Yousef Mubarak.

 

The second prize of the category went to project named “Recycling Used Tires to Produce Hydrogen”, supervised by Dr. Yousef Mubarak, and conducted by Roua Muhammad Nasri, Raneem Ahmed Yamin, Sawsan Muhammad Al-Hajj Muhammad, Marwa Issa Bakirat, and Ghadir Amin Habash.

 

The third prize of the Chemical Engineering has been awarded to "Wastewater Treatment Plant in Olive Presses" project, concluded by Anwar Haroun Qassem, Batool Ahmed Al-Zoubi, Alaa Adel Ayoub, Lynn Jamal Al-Orf, and Wiam Omar Al-Sharif, supervised by Dr. Linda Al-Hamoud.


In the industrial engineering area, the first prize went to a project “Applying the Theory of Constraints and Risk Management Using Fuzzy Logic to Improve the Performance of a Pharmaceutical Production Line”, which was supervised by Dr. Abbas Al-Rifai, and done by Lujain Rabah Nazzal, Maram Muhannad Al-Barghouti, Maryam Ziyad Al-Zoubi, and Afnan Muhammad Abdel-Hamid.


For the Civil Engineering category, the third prize was won by the project "The Structural Design of the Great Ma'an Mosque", by Abdul Rahman Kamal Odeh, Mustafa Haitham Al-Mallah, and Moataz Muhammad Al-Qawarek, supervised by Dr. Anis Shatnawi.
