Geomatics Middle East and North Africa Ninth Conference Kicks Off

The 9th International Conference Geomatics Middle East and North Africa kicked off Monday at the University of Jordan in Aqaba (UJ Aqaba) under the theme: “Sustainable Development through Integrated Management of Resources”.
 
Held under the patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya bint Al Hassan, the Conference aims to promote integrated management system of natural resources available and the employment of modern technologies to achieve and maintain sustainable development.
 
The conference, which is one of the biggest international Geomatics events, brought together over 300 leading Arab and international scientists, researchers, and scholars to exchange and share their experiences and research results about the various aspects of Geomatics.
 
Taking place over four days, the conference will discuss more than 100 papers dealing with topics related to the role remote sensing and geographic information systems in achieving sustainable development, and the future of sustainable development in armed conflicts.
 
Themes of the 2016 conference include: sustainable development of coastal areas, urban planning and sustainable development, sustainable tourism, renewable energy and sustainable development, water resources and sustainable development.
