King donates financial support to the national football team

  Amman, Nov. 8 ( Petra )--His Majesty King Abdullah II has donated JD350,000 to the national football team.
 
King Abdullah expressed his full support to the Nashama ahead of a match with Uruguay on Wednesday, an Asia-south America intercontinental play-off for a spot at the twenty fourteen FIFA World Cup in Brazil .
 
King Abdullah called in to announce the donation during a telethon organised by Jordan Radio and Television Corporation, in cooperation with the Jordan Football Association, to raise funds for the national squad.
 
The King said he was proud of the Nashama's achievements, wished it well and thanked all for their support, including United Arab Emirates Princes Mohammad bin Zayed and Mohammad bin Rashed Al Maktoum.
 
The fund-raiser went on for over six hours through an open studio, from 1:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m, with individuals in and outside Jordan , and official and private entities, calling in to announce donations.
 
His Royal Highness Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Football Association expressed thanks and appreciation for the King’s donation to the national football team.
 
His Highness also thanked all public and private sector national institutions as well as Jordanians for their support to the football team.
 
In a telephone call with Jordan Television, which organized the telethon, Prince Ali praised efforts that have been exerted to ensure the success of the telethon.
