UJ Holds Mental Health Awareness Week

As part of the University of Jordan's (UJ) celebration of the World Mental Health Day, the Mental Health Awareness Week kicked off at UJ under the slogan "Let's make mental health and psychological well-being for all a global priority."

The activities of the week, organized by the Department of Psychology at the School of Arts in cooperation with the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS), German Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and International Medical Corps, aims to promote and support mental health as a shared responsibility of the individual and society.
 
Activities include mental health awareness raising campaigns, and talks with students throughout the university campus. An online questionnaire that includes questions on mental health topics was also introduced to students that can provide them with directly general indicators about their mental health quality.
 
The activities are run throughout the week by a group of student volunteers from the Department of Psychology. The events will end up with a closing ceremony under the patronage of UJ President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, next Wednesday, at Ahmed Al-Lozi auditorium at King Abdullah II School of Information Technology.
