The School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan (UJ) organized an open day on the occasion of the United Nations' (UN) Universal Children's Day.
The event hosted speakers from institutions concerned with children's affairs, to introduce the students to programs and services they offer to this age group, including the Ministry of Social Development, National Council for Family Affairs, and Sadaqa Foundation.
Organizer of the event, Dr. Iman Al-Mufleh Al-Bitawi, said that the International Children's Day is celebrated annually on November 20 to emphasize the importance of this group and their legitimate rights, noting that Jordan is one of the countries that put the development and prosperity of children on top of its concerns.
The event also included a seminar in which the participants and attendees discussed issues related to children, families and motherhood, including quality standards for nurseries and child care centers, child development indicators, and Labor Law No. 72 on working mothers and nurseries.
