Delegation from Iraqi Kurdistan Region Visits UJ

The University of Jordan (UJ) President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, received in his office on Wednesday a delegation from the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, headed by the Chairman of the Health Professions Syndicate, Dr. Jabbar Rahim, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Jordanian Nursing Council, Prof. Hani Al Nawafleh.

 

During the meeting which was attended by UJ's Vice President for Quality Affairs, Prof. Enaam Khalaf and Dean of the School of Nursing, Prof. Areej Othman, the two sides examined the possibility of sending out a number of health students to the University to develop their skills and expertise in their fields, in addition to the possibility of establishing a branch of UJ's School of Nursing and a number of medical postgraduate programs in the Kurdistan region. 

 

The two parties agreed to later frame cooperation between them by signing a joint MoU, and to conduct a deep study of all aspects concerned with the idea of establishing a new branch of the University in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.

 

After the meeting, the delegation visited the School of Nursing, and the University of Jordan Hospital and met with its Director, Prof. Jamal Melhem, the meeting tackled ways of cooperation in several medical fields.
