The School of Foreign Languages at the University of Jordan (UJ) organized the Spanish Cultural Days in cooperation with the Spanish Embassy and the Instituto Cervantes in Amman from 18 to 20 February 2017.
The event, which was attended by the Spanish ambassador in Amman, is an opportunity for Spanish language students at the School to display their language skills and engage with the Spanish culture. According to event coordinators Dr. Renad Al Momani and Dr. Moayyad Sharab from the Spanish Language Division, the event included various types of performances such as dancing, singing, musicals, and plays of Spanish literature, in addition to language competitions. As he handed out the certificates and awards to the winners of the language competitions, UJ Vice President Prof. Ahmad Majdoubeh shared his admiration of the students' performances and language abilities, stressing that such language competence is due to quality of foreign language programs at UJ. The Spanish ambassador in Amman Santiago Cabanas Ansorena thanked UJ and the Spanish Language Division for organizing the event, pointing out that Spanish has become a universal language and a "language of the future". |
