Turkish Ministry of Interior, IOM Delegation Visits UJ

As part of an official visit to the Kingdom, a delegation from the Turkish Ministry of Interior and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Turkey on Monday visited the University of Jordan (JU) and met with the Director of the International Affairs Unit, Prof. Hadeel Yaseen, and Professor of International Relations and Conflict Resolution at Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II School of International Studies, Hassan Momani.

The visit aimed at exploring the University's experiences with concern to refugee response programs from an academic perspective, and available academic programs related to conflict studies, forced migration and refugees at the university.

The delegation, consisting of officials, experts and specialists from the Presidency of Migration Management of the Turkish Ministry of Interior and IOM, discussed topics of common interest, including academic support programs for refugees and refugee studies programs offered at the University, in addition to international cooperation programs in this field.

The delegation also shared Turkey's experience as the world’s largest host of refugees. At the end of the meeting, they expressed their appreciation to the University for organizing this meeting and for the good reception.
