Tuesday announced public holiday to mark Hijri new year

Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Bisher Al Khasawneh on Wednesday issued a circular declaring Tuesday, August 10, a public holiday for ministries and public departments to observe the Islamic Hijri new year, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
This Muharram 1 marks 1443 lunar years since Prophet Mohammad’s migration from Mecca to Medina, known as the “hijra”.
